Alexandra Carl is an acclaimed fashion stylist and author, based in London.

The 300-page works delves into the stories behind rare and iconic garments held in the personal collections of the most fascinating fashion and design talent - including Michèle Lamy, Zaha Hadid, Alexander Fury and Sarah Andelman. Offering readers an insider’s look at the meticulous process of sourcing, preserving and styling pieces, Collecting Fashion is an essential resource for fashion enthusiasts, and those interested in the enduring allure of archival fashion.
The book has featured in top-tier titles including British Vogue, AnOther, ELLE, Architectural Digest, and Monocle, to name a few. Alex has most recently chaired a sold-out panel discussion about the art of archival fashion at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, speaking alongside Alexander Fury and Michele Lamy.
Named by the British Fashion Council as part of the 2019 NEW WAVE: Creatives - a list of 100 of the most innovative and inspiring creative talents from around the world, and having recently completed a Masters Course in the Circular Economy and Sustainability at Cambridge University, Alex is continuing to shape the way the industry - and wider - perceives and appreciates the beauty of the past in contemporary fashion.
