Supriya Lele
Supriya Lele is the designer behind the acclaimed eponymous label based in London. Her work is deeply rooted in her own cross-cultural point of view, examining her Indian heritage and British cultural identity whilst creating work from a decidedly female viewpoint that tells a nuanced and delicate story.
In 2020, Lele was awarded a portion of the LVMH Prize fund which was split across all 8 finalists for the first time. Supriya has also been selected as one of the 10 Asian Designers to Watch Award, and has had her work featured in exhibitions in Hong Kong, MoMu Fashion Museum Antwerp and the Museum of Scotland. The Business of Fashion have recognised Supriya’s achievements and included her in the 2022 Business of Fashion 500 list.
Supriya celebrates collaboration and storytelling, and has worked on a series of special projects. Collaborations include renowned fashion and documentary photographer Jamie Hawkesworth on the self-published book Narmada and documentary photographer Sohrab Hura on the brand’s SS22 campaign in Goa, India. Most recently, Supriya collaborated with Harley Weir on the AW22 Campaign.
Lele’s work has been spotlighted and featured in publications such as British Vogue, Vogue Runway, The New York Times, Vogue Italia, Vogue India, i-D, Dazed & Confused, and The Gentlewoman, and worn by the likes of Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Charithra Chandran, Ariana Grande, FKA Twigs and more.
In 2023 the brand collaborated with Victoria's Secret, re-imagining their iconic pieces with a contemporary twist for the "Victoria's Secret World Tour." For SS24, Lele unveiled her inaugural solo collection at London Fashion Week within the setting of The Barbican Centre carpark, generously sponsored by Bentley Motors and Tencel fabrics.
